New Year’s Eve is a time for celebration, ringing in the new year to come. Even kids want to get in on the fun! So I’ve come up with a way for the kids to say “cheers” to the new year with their own personalized glasses and sparkling cider.
Supplies for New Year’s Cups:
- plastic drinking cups – the fancy kind, found in the party section
- number stickers
- pipe cleaner – the sparkly kind is better
- sparkling cider
1. Wrap a pipe cleaner around the stem of each glass. Let the kids get creative with how their pipe cleaner will look. You can bend them zig zag or curl them. Even twist 2 or 3 together.
2. Add the number stickers to the side of your cup for the new year: 2011. You can even add their name in letter stickers on their cup too.
Now pour your sparkling cider into each cup, and it’s ready for saying “cheers”. Happy New Year!
I think that this is a cute project. I plan to do this with my family this year. Thank-you for sharing this project.

Great minds…I bought some of these to this same thing!!!
Love them!
This is so great! They look cute and kids won’t get their glasses confused with each others!
These are cute! Not sure if they would stick on plastic, but those “window clings” you see for kids would also make a cute decoration on glasses.
Great idea, I bet those window clings would be perfect. Let me know if you try it. Happy New Year!!
