Today’s Thanksgiving themed kids craft is so much fun and incredibly easy for little ones too. I’m talking kids of ALL ages {even those crafty adults} will enjoy making this Recycled CD Turkey Kids Craft.
With only a few simple supplies {with one being a recycled material so it’s super cheap at that!} this adorable craft takes a total of 10 minutes to complete – start to finish. Plus it makes for a great decoration to display during your Thanksgiving celebrations AND with it incooperating sweet handprint cutouts, this is also a great keepsake to treasure for years to come!
This Recycled CD Turkey is sure to gobble up some fun this holiday season, so let’s grab those craft supplies and get to work on creating this one-of-a-kind piece today! Happy crafting my friends!!!
Supplies:
- Old CD
- School Glue
- Tan Tissue Paper
- Paint Brush
- Various Colors of Cardstock/Scrapbook Paper
- Black Sharpie
- Scissors
First have your child cut their tan tissue paper into small squares.
Now have your child paint a thick layer of glue all over the CD, really making sure they get every inch {it doesn’t matter which side of the CD you choose to cover with glue}
Next have them place the tissue paper squares on top of the glue, until the CD is completely covered. Set aside.
Grab your cardstock and scrapbook paper. Trace your child’s hand several times on the scrapbook paper. Trim those out for the turkey’s feathers {we did five handprints but you are more than welcome to do more/less} Now grab your cardstock and cut out turkey features {think eyes, beak, legs etc.}
To finish off the Recycled CD Turkey – grab your handprint cutouts and glue those to the back of the CD. Then grab your other cardstock pieces and glue those to the front of the CD. Now set it aside to let it all dry completely before displaying proudly! {psst – glue string to the back to hang it on a wall or add some magnets to the back to display on the fridge}
