May the 4th be with you. Coming up on May 4th is a great Star Wars holiday, so I’m going to give you guys a great Star Wars book. This month I’m reviewing the Origami Yoda series by Tom Angleberger. If you’re a fan of Star Wars and origami then you will really enjoy this series of books.
The Origami Yoda Series
These books are about a group of middle school students, one of which is the extremely weird origami master, Dwight. Dwight, with his Jedi-wise finger puppet, Origami Yoda, strive to change the school. They meet a series of obstacles ranging from a sarcastic non-believer to a break dancing dictionary. These books are silly, interesting, and tons of fun to read.
There are now 5 books, and also a drawing guide, that are part of the series:
Books in The Origami Yoda Series
- The Strange Case of Origami Yoda
- Darth Paper Strikes Back
- The Secret of the Fortune Wookiee
- The Surprise Attack of Jabba the Puppett
- Princess Label Maker to the Rescue
- Art2-D2’s Guide to Folding and Doodling
The final book in the series was just announced… Emperor Pickletine Rides the Bus available this summer!
The best part of the series is the instructions for origami in each book. There are step by step instructions to make an origami Star Wars character at the end of the book. Visit the website to see more on how to fold the origami.
They are a great series for 9 years and up and feature many doodles, origami, and games that just need a pencil and paper! Any of these books would make a great gift idea.
