We’re making these fun monster cards for Valentine’s Day. They are sure to be eye-popping fun for any boy or girl to receive!
Supplies for Monster Valentine Cards:
- paper – all different colors
- cardstock paper – folded in half for cards
- googley eyes – the larger the better
- foam glue dots
- glue stick
- markers or crayons
- candies to glue on the front
1. Create a fun looking monster out of paper, about 2-3 inches tall. I used a die cut machine to make our monsters, or you can draw this with markers or crayons onto your paper.
2. Add one large googley eye to your monster’s face. We used foam glue dots to give it a pop-up feel.
3. Glue your monster onto the inside of your card and write the words “I’ve got my eye on you” to the card, somewhere around the monster.
4. On the front of the card, write the word “Valentine…” and tape or add a glue dot to a candy and attach it to the front of the card.
Now these One Eyed Monster Valentine’s cards are ready to pass out to your classroom!
What a great article, I’m really glad I stumbled across it as I found it to be really informative. A good article on a valentines card for school kids is not that easy to find but I’m amazed at how you touched on all the corners and how brief and to the point it was. The candy in heart shape is looking very splendid. I highly recommend checking out twent3 for valentines and greeting cards, as I’ve used them on several occasions and the cards they produce are really unique and also customized in 3d. So if you want to gift a birthday card to your friends, loved ones or even just for yourself, I can assure you these greeting cards will keep your long-lasting memories alive with the clever lenticular lens they use.
Marie, you always have fun projects!

Oh, sooo cute! My mini-me is too old for giving Valentine cards out now. I wish I’d been crafty when she was younger. I’d so have done these!

Great card. Do you have a pdf of the monster shapes that I could use? Crafting is not my strength but I keep trying.
I used a paper die cut shape of a monster, not a pattern. But that is where you could get creative or have your children come up with the basic drawing of a monster. I’m sure there are lots of outlines you could find on a google search. Good luck!
LOVE these! With more than one potential snow day ahead of us, my oldest son and I will be making these for his class!
Hey! We love this craft so much we used it on our website. Check it out: http://www.bunchfamily.ca/valentines-day-craft-monster-valentines. Thanks for your great ideas!

I have this really great idea to make valentine snowglobes with my son for his class, but have a feeling he would enjoy this one more! Looks like a change of plans. I’m really enjoying your site. . .great ideas!
Thanks! But I’m thinking I want to see those snow globes too!! :)
Oh I love these. So much more fun than the old school Valentines. My 4 yr old son would love helping me make these for his preschool class! Thanks for sharing!
Cute! So simple I love it!
L-O-V-E these but am not sure if they are right for a tween…oh who am I kidding they got excited when I brought in b-day cupcakes!
Love a Valentine that both boys and girls can get into.
Adorable! Is the die cut a Cricut one? Thanks.
These were from the Cricut monster’s cartridge. They have darling monster designs on that one!
Love the monsters with the googly eyes, so cute!
