These fun little hats are super easy to embellish. With just a little yarn, they’re perfect for wearing on Valentines day or out in the snow.
Supplies for Stitched Snow Hats:
- knit hat – usually found at Target, Walmart, etc. for $1.
- Yarn or Embroidery Floss
- large needle – my is a quilting needle size: 16
- scissors
Thread your needle with either yarn or floss and tie a knot at the end. I think both the yarn or floss look good, but if you use floss, double it over before you tie the knot. Also, I didn’t have a pattern to go from since these hats are the color red and unable to write on. Do your best to free-hand the heart and the XO shape. Then tie a knot on the inside of the hat when you’re done, trimming the excess.
Now you’re hats are ready to wear, sealed with a KISS!
These are SO adorable!!
Marie…they look like Baby Gap models. Even better…they’re my nephew and niece! I don’t know how busy you are and I’m sure you are, but I would love to meet up with you, Jordan, and the kids. Maybe, we could take you and the fam out to Maglebys some day, I get a sweet deal. Let me know. Love ya.
Kat – THANK YOU for sharing this! I’ve really always wanted to know how to do that. What a great trick! Thanks for sharing. I’m going to try it today.

Oh these are 10 kinds of cute! I’m definitely making some for my kiddos. Thanks a bunch! :)
Very cute. If you did need a pattern, you could draw one on tissue paper and pin or baste that to the hat. Then stitch right through the tissue, pulling it away from the stitches when you’re done.
Those are really fantastic, thanks for sharing!
