We’re getting really close to St. Patrick’s Day as March begins tomorrow and rainbows are forming everywhere to get ready for the gold! Last year we mixed up a Milk Rainbow Connection, so this year we’re trying it out with pudding.
Supplies for Rainbow Pudding:
- vanilla pudding
- food coloring
- bowl
- glass
1. Mix up your pudding, either homemade or from a box. My pudding came from an instant pudding box mix.
2. Since my pudding turned out to be a little on the yellow side, I only need to add a bowl of red and blue to make our rainbow. Divide your pudding into a few bowls, one for each color to be mixed. Add a couple of drops of food coloring and stir.
3. We made each color of the rainbow, mixing a couple of the already colored puddings together to form new colors.
4. After each color is made, using a spoon, layer each color of your pudding into a large clear glass. It’s fun to see the rainbow take shape.
You can eat it out of this glass, or spoon your rainbow into individual bowls. It’s fun to see the rainbow get all mixed up.
Cool.. going to make these in ice lolly moulds….cute
The blog is very good, It worth to collect
Did the colors begin to blend or fade into each other after a few hours?? Wanting to do this for my DD’s birthday party, but would need to make it a day or two ahead of time. Curious if it will hold up…?! LOVE this!
Wow that looks yummy i would eat that of of the computer lol!
Well, this is just a little piece of rainbow goodness. I love it — as does my 3-year-old son. Thanks for the great idea! I featured it today in my St. Patty’s Day roundup:

So fun! I think I like this one even better than the jello idea. :)
Beautifull pictures and such a great idea! I had to copy you that very night! (I linked to you here http://theseboyslovecake.blogspot.com/2011/03/taste-rainbow.html)
Very cute idea , my grandkids would love this. Going to make it for them this summer when they come to visit. Thanks for the great idea!
So cute! I love this idea! I’m linking up to this on my blog today! What a great idea!
This is adorable Marie! I am going to have to remember this when St. Patty’s rolls around. Too cute! :)
This is a great idea. I love that there is not a mix of flavors.
Yum! My kiddoes would love this.
Last year I made rainbow fruit kabobs. I slid chunks of fruit– strawberries, cantaloupe, pineapple, blueberries, green grapes, red/purple grapes– on wooden skewers. I always snip off the pointy ends with a kitchen shear, and then end with a rolo (for the gold at the end of the rainbow).
Cute idea! It’s sounds so much easier than the jello alternative. That makes it a winner at my house! :)
such a creative idea! i don’t know that i can as skillfully assemble all those perfect beautiful layes but love the idea!
Ok I LOVE this idea but am still trying to find some different options for food coloring. Have you found any that are a bit more natural? I have not had too much luck.
So cute! I’ve never seen this done with pudding. I love it!
Hi, I LOVE the rainbow pudding idea!!sounds like something i’ll do with my granddaughters!!Check out the octupi craft idea on my blog: http://sunnyhilldairy.blogspot.com , it is really easy and fun.
White Chocolate pudding is great for coloring because it doesn’t have a yellow color like vanilla does!
Great idea, Kim. I bet that’s a good flavor too, never tried it!
G O R G E O U S!! This is just beautiful :)
