Topping suggestions for angel food cake
When topping the whipped cream with fruit, try to stay away from anything with too much liquid that will liquefy the cream and absorb into the cake. Here are fruits that we find work really well.
- Grapes
- Berries – strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries
- Mango
- Apricots
- Kiwi fruit
- Pomegranate
- Banana
- Coconut
- Mandarins – fresh only, not from a can
- Pears – fresh only, not from a can
Instructions
Spread a layer of cream onto your mini angel food cake.
Once your fruit is cut up into smaller pieces, put it on top of the cream.
This is optional, but if you like a sweeter cake, drizzle a little icing over the top of the fruit.
