As you head into the new school year, let’s make a first day of school teacher gift that will make your new teacher smile. We’ve got fun yet practical ideas including these 15 gift ideas, a high-five to a great year card, and a very colorful printable that you can pair with supplies. Below, I’m showing you a quick and easy gift idea that I’ve made for the teachers I work with.

First day of school teacher candy dish
As I mentioned above, I made several of these candy dishes for the teachers I work with. I made sure to include gourmet treats that were individually wrapped with a mix of healthy and not-so-healthy.
Supplies
- Pretty bowl – I bought the pink glass bowls as a set at Marshall’s.
- Gourmet candy and treats that are individually wrapped
- Scrap fabric – any color or pattern you like
- Ribbon – I used t-shirt yarn that I had left from a crochet basket project

Instructions
Arrange your candy inside the dish so you can see everything but it won’t get bent or broken when you wrap it up.

Cut or tear a piece of fabric approximately 6 inches wider than the bowl in all directions.

Gather the fabric up into the center and tie a ribbon around it.
You can use Canva, as we did, to design the gift tag. Attach it to the gift by punching a hole in one corner and tying it on with the ribbon.
