Sweetheart Salad
You only need five ingredients to make this quick and easy Valentines Day salad.
Ingredients
- Spring mix
- Strawberries
- Pecans
- Goat cheese
- Champagne vinaigrette
When you purchase strawberries it can be tempting to buy the really big ones, but they are often misshapen so go for the smaller, ripe strawberries that end in a point.
Note: We used honey-roasted pecans for this dish, however, you can use your favorite flavored roasted pecans. If you want to make your own from scratch, try our caramelized pecans, they are perfect for this recipe.
How do you cut a strawberry into a heart shape?
The first step for making our yummy salad is to cut the strawberries into a heart shape.
Take your knife and cut a ‘V’ shape into the top of the strawberry to remove the stem and leaves. You can then cut your strawberries into thin slices for your salad.
How to assemble your Valentines Day salad
This salad is so easy that anyone can whip it up in no time at all. You can either add all of your salad ingredients (except the dressing) into a bowl so that each person can dish up their own, or assemble it onto individual plates. Leave the dressing off the salad allowing each person to add their own.
