If you are looking for DIY personalized gift ideas, you have come to the right place. We’ve got papier-mache decorated letters, a DIY photo box, and a driftwood coordinates sign. Below, we are showing you how to make a personalized puzzle of a family pet.
DIY puzzle
I created this DIY puzzle of the pet Betta fish in our classroom, named Blueberry. This was the short version of its name, which was Princess Hypersonic Blueberry Unicorn. My goal for this year is for the children to recognize the puzzle (painting) of Blueberry as being the actual fish in our classroom. When making it, I realized what a wonderful gift this would make for children of their favorite pet at home.

Instructions
Whether you choose to use Canva, as we did, to create the graphic image and text, or you use a photo and do calligraphy, is up to you.
The first step is to trace around the image and text using a pencil, or use your pencil to write the name of your pet in calligraphy.
After you have drawn your image and text in pencil, it is time to paint it. I prefer to start with one sold color when using acrylic paint and then adding layers over the top.
Add layers of color to your image and then paint the background and text.
Once your paint is dry, add sealer over the top. I prefer a spray sealer for this because a brush-on one can make it more difficult to pull the puzzle pieces apart and put them back together again.
